The title of this blog is meant to be taken as a joke. I completely reject taking anything based on authority rather than on the logic and consistency of the argument itself. That the public's trust in bankers has collapsed after the recent financial crisis should enhance the irony of the statement.
Through this blog, I hope to delve into a variety of topics I find both wildly interesting and incredibly important--but only with concrete facts, transparent assumptions, and a few thought experiments just to keep things interesting. Basically, I love to learn, and I hope that this blog will not only force me to explore, research, and analyze the world around us, but also allow me to share and discuss my findings with others.

My writings will often jump between science, economics, politics, philosophy, history, personal finance, corporate finance, and much more, and the chronological order in which I discuss these topics might not be optimal in terms of how they relate to one another. Therefore, I will try to link my own posts as well as resources from across the internet to make for a better experience. To give things a little context, I also hope to start each post with a relevant quote or story.
Some of the topics I hope to discuss early on are:
- What is money and why is it valuable?
- How does an economy function and why is it so important?
- How are investments evaluated?
- What is risk and how is it measured?
- What is justice and why is it important? How does it impact society as a whole?
- What is the role of technology in a society?
- What distinguishes "good" decisions from "bad" decisions and what are their consequences?
And much more!
